Slim-Chin Optical Engine
*Slim-chin* is a patented technology that allows full HD (1080p) video capability for front and rear projectors. The low cost projection lens has less than 10 optical elements and no aspherical lenses for ease of manufacturing. The wide angle optics is based on molded plastic for low cost. This technology can be equipped with zoom capability. The Slim-Chin technology is already in high volume production.
The Optinvent team has developed a slim rear projection TV optical engine which is produced by a major Japanese OEM. It allows a 61” diagonal picture with a depth of less than 10”. Distortion is at a very low 0.5% and minimum MTF across the field is at <30% with full HD (1080p) resolution.
